Perfect shell

I purchased this item a month ago and tested its performance in the Scottish climate. It protected me from the wind and pouring rain, keeping my underlayered clothes dry. Excellent item, highly recommended: it does its job perfectly.

Not waterproof

The description says the jacket is waterproof but it wasn't.

Not waterproof at all!

It couldn’t even handle a light drizzle! Nice fit and pockets but utterly useless. After walking 10 minutes in light drizzle my under shirt was wet

Not waterproof as it claims

I bought this jacket for my EBC trek because I needed a truly waterproof layer and had read great reviews. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst rain jackets I’ve ever owned.

During a day of mild but steady rain, the jacket started leaking after about 45 minutes. My arms were wet, my hair was damp under the hood, and even my neck was getting wet — despite there being no wind or sideways rain.

At the lodge that evening, I noticed the jacket had patches of water collected around the hood, neck, and arms that simply wouldn’t dry, even in a warm room. The next day, I had to put the same damp jacket back on, and within 20 minutes of light rain, it started soaking through again.

I was so disappointed that I ended up buying a cheap poncho in Namche Bazaar — and that actually kept me drier than this so-called waterproof jacket. For the price and reputation, I expected far better performance.

Perfect!!!

I've had several opportunities to use it. It's very comfortable, lightweight, and closes perfectly.
